What is Gua Sha?

Gua Sha

An ancient Chinese ritual to restore youth and glow to your skin in a natural way

Gua Sha — literally “to scrape off the heat” — is a centuries-old Chinese technique in which a smooth, flat stone is glided gently along the skin.

The idea behind it is that everyone holds negative feelings, consciously or not, and what is held inside settles on the face — dullness, tension, a tired look. Scraping off the heat releases what has been carried for too long, so the skin can look youthful, glowing and radiant again. On the face, these slow strokes also boost circulation, encourage lymphatic drainage and release tension held in the jaw, brow and temples.

Who is it for?

Almost everyone. Gua Sha is gentle, non-invasive and suitable for all skin types — especially loved for morning puffiness, dull or tired skin and a tense jaw. It is not recommended over active breakouts or irritated, very sensitive skin; if in doubt, just tell your therapist and the treatment will be adapted for you.

Energy healing in thirty minutes

Express Detox Facial

This facial is built on energy work rather than surface work. Smooth stones are drawn along the face following the reflexology map — the same zones the soles carry, mirrored across the brow, cheeks and jaw — while the marma points of the temples, brow and jawline are held with steady, unhurried pressure.

Between the stone work and the point work, Reiki is held over the face and the head: hands resting, nothing rubbed or pressed. That is the real purpose of these thirty minutes — to move what has gone stagnant, lift the puffiness of a short night, and settle the nervous system underneath. Brighter skin is what you see afterwards; a quieter mind is what you feel.

Gua Sha is a traditional technique using a smooth stone tool to lift and drain the face. It improves circulation, reduces puffiness around the eyes and jaw, and gives a natural lifted look without needles or downtime.
